Mari is originally from Stockholm, Sweden and moved to the Portland area in 1999. 
Her equestrian career began at the age of nine after several years of begging for riding lessons at the local riding school.  While she has successfully competed in jumpers and dressage, Mari’s passion is eventing.  She is currently showing her thoroughbred gelding With Gusto, “Gus”, at the International one-star level.

Her aim is to give her students solid, classical basics before they decide in which direction they wish to take their riding.  Mari has completed the workshops through level II (Preliminary) to become certified through the United States Eventing Association Instructors Certification Program.

Her influences includes eventers Anna Collier-McGreevy and John Camlin, as well as dressage trainers Brooke Voldbaek and Mike Etherly.  When Mari is not teaching, she spends her time managing the day-to-day activities at Foxridge Farm.
